We drove to Mexico early in the season to experience the waterfalls around San Luis Potosi, and the higher river levels at that time of year. We got exactly what we were wishing for, with juicy levels on the Santa Maria, Micos, El Salto, Rio Verde, and Tampoan.
We got loosened up really well on Micos Cascadas, paddling the easy drops repeatedly, and then going back again, swimming and jumping like a gang of kids that we saw there.

We were able to paddle behind one of the waterfalls.

The Rio Verde is one of my favorite rivers because of the magnificient scenery and the many falls.

We had to lower boats and climb around two high falls.
After paddling the Rio Verde, we were invited to sleep over at a private house in the very small town at the take-out.
We spent two days paddling the Verde. On the second day, we ran a high waterfalls called Resurrection. Here below is the video of Tom's run.
The first week was a week of mostly waterfalls running, and we spent most nights camping. For next year, a new chain of hotels is opening up which will make available first class accommodations for those who prefer.
More photos of the waterfalls trip.
